Actress, MOROCCO

‘Between the FIFM and me, it’s a long love story... I have a wonderful memory of it when in 2006, I was the Mistress of Ceremonies. This year, my emotion is great to receive the tribute paid by this prestigious festival. What an honour it is to be consecrated among my peers from Morocco and abroad! My pride is only matched by my impatience to meeting you all there.’

Mouna Fettou was born in Rabat (Morocco). Her love for art and for theatre in particular began at primary school. Then at high school, she had her first taste of performing in school plays. Later, she joined the drama workshop at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat, and then at Jack Waltzer’s Actors’ Studio in Paris for six months. Her career began with A Love in Casablanca by Abdelkader Lagtaâ, and continued with a string of work for film, television and theatre. She has won many prizes at numerous festivals and made a name for herself in France for her role in the latest film by Gaël Morel, Catch the Wind, alongside French star Sandrine Bonnaire.
