Karim Aïtouna was born in Morocco in 1976. A producer and director, he graduated from the University Mohamed V in Rabat with a law degree, after which he worked at the French Institute of Tangier / Tetouan as cultural programming assistant. He went on to obtain Master’s degrees in film studies and in cultural management from the University Lumière Lyon II. As a producer, his credits include short and feature-length fiction and documentary films. He participated in the Emerging Producers programme of the Ji.hlava InternationalDocumentary FIlm Festival in 2013, and makes his feature length directorial debut with A Place Under the Sun (2019).
