Phuttiphong Aroonpheng studied fine arts at Silpakorn University in Bangkok. His short films have been screened at numerous film festivals; the most recent, Ferris Wheel (2015), showed at more than 20 festivals and won 10 awards, including a Special Mention at the Singapore International Film Festival. He was a participant of the 2009 Asian Film Academy in Busan, and was selected as an Asian Public Intellectuals fellow by the Nippon Foundation. Aroonpheng also works extensively as cinematographer, with credits including Jakrawal Nilthamrong’s Vanishing Point (2015), Pimpaka Towira’s The Island Funeral (also 2015), and Waleed Al-Shehhi’s Dolphins (2014). Manta Ray (2018) is his debut feature length film.
