Born in 1980 in Parwan (Afghanistan), his family moved to Iran when he was 6 years old. From a very young age he was interested in films and cinema and developed a passion for this art. He started as an assistant director and went on to direct his own shorts and produce other works. He was a producer on over 10 TV movies. He produced A Few Cubic Meters of Love by Jamshid Mahmoudi (2014) selected as Afghanistan’s official entry for the Academy Awards. Parting is his directing feature debut.
