Son of the great violinist Houcine Mouftakir (aka Budra), he first studied English literature at the University of Casablanca before studying Film.
Direction and Writing, especially in France. He worked for five years as an assistant of directors in Morocco or abroad, and followed several internships in France, Germany, where he lived for several years, and Tunisia. He went on to direct several short films. In 2010, his debut feature.
Pegasus won Best Film, Best Cinematography, Best Sound, Best Actress Prizes and the Critics’ Prize at the Tangier Film Festival.
