Born in 1978 in Denmark, he graduated from the National Film School in 2003. He directed several award-winning documentaries: Vesterbro, about his 20-year-old neighbours, Doxwise Diary (2008), an episode from a webserie on four young Danes, and The Wild Hearts, on a group of young men through Europe on their mopeds.
His feature debut, the prison drama R co-directed with Tobias Lindholm, won top awards at Göteborg and Mumbai. His gangster drama Norhtwest was selected at Tribeca, Göteborg and Rotterdam.
