Hajooj kuka was born in Sudan and studied in Lebanon and in the United States. His award-winning feature-length documentary Beats of the Antonov (2014) had its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it won a People’s Choice Award. Alongside his filmmaking efforts, he leads workshops that teach visual language and storytelling to displaced people in the Blue Nile and the Nuba Mountains. aKasha (2018) is his second feature-length film.
