Présentation

Born in 1948 in Brede (Denmark), he attended the Danish Film School from 1971 and worked as a cinematographer for film and TV. He became one of the few directors to ever win two Palmes d’Or from the Festival de Cannes, in 1988 for Pelle the Conqueror (also recipient of an Oscar and a Golden Globe) and in 1992 for The Best Intentions. Since the early 1990s he directed a string of big international co-productions, including
