Abd al Malik



A French poet and rapper of Congolese origin, he grew up in Neuhof, a housing-estate in Strasbourg (France). Fond of literature, he studied philosophy and classics while founding in 1988 with three childhood friends, his cousin and his older brother, the rap group N.A.P. (New African Poets). He won three French music awards for his solo albums “Gibraltar”, “Dante” and “Château-Rouge”. In 2009, he earned the Edgar- Faure Prize for political literature for his book La guerre des banlieues n’aura pas lieu, and published in 2013 his fourth piece of writing L’Islam au secours de la République.
