CINEMA AND AUDIODESCRIPTION, TRIBUTES FILM

Synopsis

When Arthur Vlaminck lands a job as speechwriter in the French Foreign Ministry during the tenure of Dominique de Villepin, he excels in drafting texts that require endless rewrites as a result of the ever-shifting ground of international relations and hence the constantly changing needs of the minister. Caustic caricatures and ludicrous situations make Quai d’Orsay uproariously funny, but the story takes an appropriate turn towards the sober as it approaches de Villepin’s landmark 2003 address to the United Nations, in which he contradicted the US claims of belligerence that led to its invasion of Iraq.
