Synopsis

Around the same time she is to start chemotherapy treatment, teenage schoolgirl Milla Finlay meets – and falls for – Moses, a cheerful, though troubled, small-time drug dealer. The relationship blossoms, if haltingly, much to the chagrin of Milla’s parents, who are that often confusing, contemporary mix of cool and protective. As the fears of and hopes for the future hang in the air, Milla leads the Finlay family and entourage into a state of joyous disarray. With Babyteeth, director Shannon Murphy and a pitch-perfect cast take a tragic situation and spin it out into a gently comical, endearingly romantic reminder that we all owe Death a life, so we might as well live it up while we still have the chance.
