JAMAÂ EL FNA SQUARE

Synopsis

In the third film of his semi-autobiographical trilogy, Youssef Chahine plays the role of Yehia Eskandarany, a filmmaker who joins a strike protesting inequities in the film industry. He is drawn to Nadia, an alluring young actor and activist, and is at the same time captivated by Amr, the actor who has long been his muse. After a violent spat with Amr, Yehia takes a hard look at his career, the transformations in the Egyptian film industry, and the perfidious influence of petro-dollars on creativity. Sumptuous art direction and an unforgettable tap-dance duet between Yehia and Amr make Alexandria Again and Forever simply dazzling.
